The Chinook Christian Men's Group will host its first gathering on Saturday, October 1. The ecumenical group started last year to give local men, from any or no church, an opportunity for meet with fellow Christians in an informal setting for learning and fellowship. Programs last year ranged from a session on how to sharpen a knife to information about local pulse crops as the Year of Pulse Crops was celebrated world-wide.

The first program for this year will be hosted by the Chinook Assembly of God. Pastor Josh Seymour, who became pastor of the Assembly church in June of this year, said he was excited to become a part of the monthly fellowship for men. Seymour added the October 1 meeting will be hosted in the basement of the Assembly church and attendees should enter from the lower parking lot, south of the church. The Chinook Assembly of God is located at the corner of Pennsylvania Street and Fourth Street.

Each men's group meeting begins with a breakfast cooked by members of the group. There is then a short devotional and a presentation of a topic of interest to men. Pastor Dennis Findorff, who helped get the group organized and operating, said the selection of a presenter for October 1 was in the works. Mainly he wanted men who might be interested in attending to put the date on their calendars. More information will be shared when the program is finalized. The first meeting of the Chinook Christian Men's Group will begin at 8 am. All men are welcome.
