The Chinook Sugarbeeter volleyball team has been firing on all cylinders all season long. The 'Beeters are undefeated in match play and also won the Malta Invitational and Chinook Invitational tournaments to start the season.

Last week the Sugarbeeters continued to roll through the District 6C-East.

First they were in Big Sandy Thursday night to face the Pioneers. The Sugarbeeters dominated Big Sandy winning in straight sets 25-17, 25-12 and 25-23.

Saturday the team would head to Hays to face the Thunderbirds and another conference clash.

Again it was the Sugarbeeters winning in a sweep defeating the Thunderbirds 25-10, 25-10 and 25-16 to improve to 4-0 in conference play and 6-0 overall.

The straight set wins provided the 'Beeters with a good opportunity to work on some new plays, rotations and get game experience for the younger kids on the roster.

This week the Beeters will face a different level of competition as a first face off with the Malta M-ettes Tuesday night in a re-match of a contest won by the Sugarbeeters in straight sets earlier in the year.

Thursday evening the Sugarbeeters will return home to face their District 6C-East conference rivals, the Chester-Joplin-Inverness Hawks in a homecoming contest that will establish the front-runner in the conference race.

The Hawks are the only team within the conference that the Sugarbeeters have yet to face.

Chinook has met little resistance so far in conference play, winning all but one set in their first go-around against their conference foes.

The Hawks come in with a 2-1 conference mark and are currently tied for second with the North Star Knights in the 6C-East.

A win by the Sugarbeeters wood put Chinook in command of the conference as the team enters the second half of the season.
