Chinook's Assembly of God Celebrates 80 years of being in the community

October 19, 2016

"Sunday, October 9, was a joyous time for Chinook Assembly, celebrating 80 years since it's establishment in 1936.

The church invited previous pastors of the assembly, district officials from the Montana Ministry Network of the Assemblies of God, and anyone who has been impacted throughout the history of the church to attend.

The service involved a welcome and introduction of the previous pastors, district officials, and the current pastor Joshua Seymour who arrived in June.

The service was marked by a special time of praise and worship with a medley of choruses familiar to the different time frames of those in attendance. Pastor Joshua then preached a sermon about the importance of letting God redeem our past for the sake of our future.

Pastor Curt Curtis the lead pastor from Havre Assembly (who had been Pastor Joshua's previous pastor) gave the end response encouraging the people in attendance to step into the future and follow the leadership of Pastor Joshua.

Immediately following the service a meal was served where the previous pastors shared about their pastoral tenure in Chinook. Those present were: Rev. Don and Noralyn Baker, Rev. Don and Beverly Kelley, and Pst. Mike and Charlene Bradley.

Pastor Joshua shared letters from Rev. Jim Wilson, Rev. Doug Thompson, and Rev. Tracy Durham. Each pastor took some time to share what they enjoyed about their time in Chinook, the church, and the community. The church and the meal were both well attended filling the building with lots of joy and reminiscing."
