Chinook senior Brooke Elliot goes high for a kill in the 'Beeters 3-0 sweep of the Hawks in Chester last Thursday.

The Chinook Sugarbeeter volleyball team moved to 12-0 overall this week after picking up back to back sweeps over District 6C-East rivals Chester-Joplin-Inverness Thursday and Hays/Lodge Pole Saturday.

The 'Beeters concluded the regular season this Tuesday with a match versus the Box Elder Bears, results will be in next weeks Journal.

In Chester Chinook opened the match with a back and forth 25-21 set win to get the momentum firmly on their side. Set two was all Chinook as the District leading Sugarbeeters soared past the Hawks 25-15 to go up 2-0 in the match.

Chester J-I wasn't going to just hand the match to Chinook and forced the 'Beeters to earn every point in a third set and match clinging 25-23 win.

Senior Taylor Neibauer powered home a team high nine kills in the win while also collecting eight blocks. Senior Kelsey Mathon was the team leader in assists and junior Carrie Hofer dug up a team high 12 balls in the win.

Saturday the team returned home to take on the Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds.

Chinook completed the season sweep with a 25-19, 25-10, 25-6 match win to move to 9-0 in District 6C-East play.

Head coach Mollie Rose is excited about where her team is at heading into post season play, "I am very proud of the effort shown by both the JV and Varsity squads these past few weeks. The Varsity team had a stellar performance in Fort Benton. Our opponents put up a fight and were very determined to make us work for every point. But, that didn't stop the girls from improving their aggressive net play and passing consistency. Although we made some errors on our side of the net it was great to see the girls push through and dominate the fifth set"

In Chester Rose was pleased with her teams growth, "Our efforts to improve net play in practice was evident in last Thursdays game. Offensively the girls did a great job being aggressive and ready at the net throughout the entire game. Defensively we made good efforts speeding up our game."

The District Tournament takes place in Chinook, October 27-28 and Rose will have her team ready, "I am looking forward to wrapping up our regular season play this week and preparing for the district tournament. As always we have room for improvement."
