Hogeland Happenings

The District Tournament ended Saturday in Havre. The Turner teams made a good showing and played their hearts out. Everyone in the community enjoyed watching or listening on the radio to the teams play. We’re proud of our kids and how they displayed good sportmanship. Thanks for an enjoyable year.

Elissa and Jordan Zellmer and family attended the Tournament games Wednesday and Saturday in Havre.

Susan Billmayer attended a Garden Club meeting in Chinook on Thursday. Afterwards, She and Gene attended a Corn Seed meeting at the Eagles Club.

Cassie and little August Handran were home from Scobey over the weekend to visit parents, Teresa and Dave Cornell, and other family members.

Carol and Duane Klindworth spent the weekend visiting Ashley and Josh Bare and doing some shopping.

Brenda and Terry Mohar attended the District Tourney in Havre Wednesday-Friday.

Dale and Kim Cornell visited Saturday and were supper guests at Dave and Teresa Cornells.

Sandy Beck played cards with her card group in Chinook at Helen Bucklin’s on Wednesday.

Gene Billmayer attended an EMT class in Chinook Sunday afternoon.

Hazel (Lacox) Allen passed away this past Wednesday in Havre. Her service will be Wednesday at 11 am at the 5th Avenue Christian Church in Havre. Hazel was Sandy Beck, Dixie Roseleip, and Sylvia Mohars’s last living aunt. Our sympathy goes out to Hazels’s family.

Shandel Fouts visited Sunday afternoon at Teresa and Dave Cornell’s home.

On Monday, Loretta Beck rode to Great Falls with Merrilyn Billmayer.

The Hogeland Lutheran Ladies met on Wednesday to work on WELCA quilts at the Church. Those coming were Sharon Goodrich, Susan Billmayer, Yvone Rasmussen, and Loretta Beck.

On Monday night, Wally and Loretta joined other family members for a supper at Shawn and Bobbi’s for a 5th Birthday party for Harley Jo Beck. Happy Birthday Harley Jo.

Sharon Goodrich has been getting ready for the Quilt Show at the Seed Show coming up soon.

The Krass Girls were over to help Mom and Dad this week.

Wally and Loretta Beck were over to Mike and Crystal Grabofsky’s on Sunday to make a German Coffee Kitchen for Cassidy’s class project. The kids are learning about their family heritage and how to make the foods they prepared. This was a recipe of her Great-Grandmother. Such a neat way to pass the foods down to the younger generation.

We have had a week of above average temperatures and most of our snow has melted off. Its a nice break in winter. I’m sure we will have more winter.
