Teen Book Club starts this week on Thursday, Mar. 23, 4 P.M. Teens ages 13-18 are invited to come and pick up their copy of “The Outsiders” by S.E. Hinton. Refreshments will be served.

The regular meeting of the Library Board of Trustees is Wed., Mar. 29, 4:15 P.M. in the library meeting room.

The next Learn at the Library program will be Mon., April 3, 7 P.M. when Blaine Co. Deputy Sheriff Jim Beemer will present a program on Self-Defense. Refreshments will be served.

Grab a new book and read! “Behind Her Eyes” is by Sarah Pinborough. This thriller tells the story of Louise who meets David in a bar. David turns out to be her new boss. Adele is new in town and bumps into Louise who becomes her new friend. Adele is David’s wife. This story only becomes more complicated as Louise is drawn into David and Adele’s world and realizes there is something very wrong with the marriage.

The new J.D. Robb is “Echoes in Death.” Robert Knott brings to readers “Robert B. Parker’s Revelation.” The third installment of Daughters of the Promised Land is “Redeeming Grace: Ruth’s Story” by Jill Eileen Smith.

“The River at Night” is by Erica Ferencik. What starts out as a hiking and rafting girls’ trip in the Maine wilderness become an all-too-real nightmare. The women are separated from their raft and their supplies due to a freak accident. They seek help at a ramshackle camp. Help soon turns to terror and Wini and her friends are put the test.

“Good as Gone” is a novel of suspense by Amy Gentry. After eight years Julie, an abducted daughter, reappears. Even as Anna, Julie’s mother, is thrilled to have her daughter back she starts to see holes in her story. Is Julie lying? When a private eye contacts Anna, she wonders if this young woman is her daughter at all.

Three new DVDs include “Trolls,” “Hacksaw Ridge,” and “Tangled.”

Julie Cantrel is the author of “The Feathered Bone.” Amanda is chaperoning her daughter’s sixth-grade class on a field trip to New Orleans during Halloween. Sarah, her daughter’s best friend, disappears without a trace. This tragedy causes Amanda’s family to implode in guilt, grief, and depression. To save herself Amanda embarks on a journey to find Sarah, seeking hope and purpose.

“Under the Knife” is by Kelly Parsons. When biotech millionaire Morgan Finney’s wife dies of complications during surgery, Finney’s grief turns to rage as he determines to kill the surgeon, Dr. Rita Wu. As he systematically destroys her life, Dr. Wu calls on her former lover to help her race to stop Finney before it’s too late.

Baskets,

Anyone?

The Friends of the Harlem Public Library is looking for organizations or individuals in Blaine County to donate baskets to be raffled on Wed., May 10, 7:00, at the Harlem Public Library. In addition to the basket raffle, the event will showcase the library’s new shelving and offer an evening of food and fun for all ages.

Baskets should be completed and delivered to the library by April 24, so that they can be displayed prior to the event. For more information or to donate a basket, contact Karolee Cronk at 353-2874.
