Attention Tax Payers: Tips from the local Post Office

The Chinook Post Office Staff would like to offer two very important suggestions to help guarantee the timely delivery of your tax returns.

1. Be sure you have adequate postage. Sate and Federal offices Do Not pay postage due! If you do not have the correct amount of postage your letter will be returned to you, providing you have a return address on your envelope.

2. Always place your return address in the upper left-hand corner of all material being mailed, including tax forms.

Bring your forms to the post office window and we will weigh them for you to determine the amount of postage required.

If you are running late with your taxes and don’t want to have to wait to have to pay penalties, make sure to mail through the U.S. Postal Service, The only date recognized by the IRS would be the official Postmark of the U.S. Postal Service.
