Dr. Waded Cruzado to speak at ANC Graduation ceremony

The 2017 Graduation season kicks off Thursday, May 11 with Commencement ceremonies at Aaniiih Nakoda College in Fort Belknap.
Graduation will be held at the Red Whip Gymnasium beginning at 5:30 p.m. 30 Associate Degrees will be awarded as well as 11 One Year Certificates.
This years Commencement Speaker will be the President of Montana State University, Bozeman Dr. Waded Cruzado.
Since January 2010 Dr. Waded Cruzado has served as the 12th President of Montana State University, and during that time she has significantly reshaped the face of the States's first land-grant institution.
An inspirational speaker on the role of land grant universities, she has become a well-known champion of the land-grant's tripartite mission of education, research and public outreach.
President Cruzado received the 2011 Michael P. Malone educator of the year by the Montana Ambassadors for outstanding accomplishment, excellence and leadership in the field of education. In 2012 President Barack Obama appointed Dr. Cruzado to the board of international food and agricultural deveopment (bifad), a seven member advisory council to USAID, whose primary role is to advise on agriculture, rural development and nutrition issues related to global food insecurity and the eradication of hunger in the world. she currently serves on the boards of the higher education resource services (hers), tiaa-cref Hispanic Advisory Council, International Student Exchange Program (isep), US Bank, as well as the Association of Public and Land-Grant Universities.
Prior to coming to msu, President Cruzado served as executive vice president and provost at New Mexico University and also served as Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Puerto Pico's land-grant university, the University of Puerto Rico.
A Native of Puerto Rico, President Cruzado has a son Dr. Gerald Mazo, and a daughter, Brenda Nicole Mazo. She is also a proud Grandmother of Auora and Celeste.
