What 'Cher Point

May 3, 2017

First thing this week is to look at where the NBA playoffs were on Saturday last. Remember when one team is playing another team it is the best of seven games that wins the series.

On Saturday it was Houston winning their series over Oklahoma City 4 to 1.

In a beginning series it was San Antonio over Memphis 4 to 2.

Utah leads the LA Clippers 3 to 2.

It is Washington over Atlanta 3 to 2.

How about Boston over Chicago 3 to 2?

Toronto won their series over Milwaukee by 4 to 2.

Cleveland won their first series and for them it is playing Toronto next. Houston will be playing San Antonio next.

There is some NFL news regarding the NFL draft. First and foremost for us who are not Roger Goodell, the first thing that happened was that Roger Goodell got booed roundly and then Cleveland picked Myles Garrett. Garrett is a pass rusher for Texas A and M and very good at that. That draft choice will only help Cleveland.

At that draft Chicago chose North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky. Chicago needs a quarterback badly and maybe they see something in Mitchell Trubisky that others do not see.

I also heard that San Francisco picked defensive end Solomon Thomas from Stanford. That pick should help that team that really needs help.

For those of you who are NFL junkies like I am, the question that nags at me as summer nears is who is going to go all the way to the Super Bowl next season?

Do Tom Brady and his Patriots have enough left in them to get one more Super Bowl win after that most spectacular Super Bowl win ever last February?

What about Atlanta? They got all the way last season to fizzle. Do they have the team this year to get up and beat most anyone out for this next season’s Super Bowl? I just don’t know but stranger things have happened.

Or well it be a team that no one expects to go all the way. I am thinking of our western teams of course. Could a team like the Vikings, the Broncos or the Seahawks go all the way this season? And, don’t discount Dallas with their super quarterback either.

It will so good to have summer this year because not far off will be September and the start of another huge season of not only NFL but prep and college football too!

That’s my story and I am sticking to it. Go Thunderbirds!
