Mrs. Weinheimer's third grade class visited the library to learn about the Summer Reading Program..

"Mustang Country" will be the movie at 1:00 p.m. today. Starring Joel McCrea as an ex-rodeo star turned sheep farmer, "Mustang Country" is an exciting family adventure set in the wilderness. With the help of an orphaned Native American teen, a mare called Rosie and a scene-stealing dog named Luke, Dan tracks down a magnificent wild black stallion along the Canadian border circa 1925. Filmed on location in the Banff National Park near Alberta, Canada, this appealing film was the final movie starring Western favorite Joel McCrea. Everyone is welcome to attend and refreshments will be served. "That Evening Sun" will be the movie next week and will be the final movie until after the Summer Reading Program is over.

Your children are invited to join the Blaine County Library's Summer Reading Program and attend the fun programs and events we are planning for children of all ages. Children who join the summer library program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed. Kids can start signing up for the Summer Reading Challenge after school on Thursday, May 25th. For every two hours read, kids will be able to enter their name into our Summer Reading prize drawings. There will also be small prizes awarded for every two hour entry. Pre-readers are encouraged to participate by having someone read to them. Prizes will also be awarded to the winners of the coloring contest.

We will have computers available for taking Accelerated Reader tests so kids will be able to get a head start on AR points for the fall. There will be a Summer Library Program every Tuesday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. beginning June 6th and ending July 25th. Each program will last around 45 to 60 minutes. There will be stories, games, crafts, and treats each week. We're excited to introduce a Summer Storytime as well this summer for kids ages 5 and under. This program will take place every Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. and will last approximately 30 minutes. The Summer Storytime program is tailored to the needs and interests of a younger age group and is a great opportunity for your younger children to get involved with our Summer Library activities. Each week we'll read stories, sing songs, and make crafts. On Mondays we will have Beat the Heat Family Movie, Wednesdays will be LEGO Club for grades K-6, and Thursdays will be Middle School Hangout for Kids in grades 6-8. All programs start at 2:00. Wednesday June 7th we have a special guest coming to the library! In cooperation with PBS Montana, Clifford the Big Red Dog will be here at 2:00 p.m. There will be stories and activities and kids can get their picture taken with Clifford. We look forward to spending time with you and your children this summer. Please contact us with any questions at (406) 357-2932 or email us at blcolib@itstriangle.com.
