What 'Cher Point?

June 28, 2017

We are not even two months from the start of college football along with the NFL.

So, there is news about football and a little more is coming out every day or so.

Not only that but the Cleveland Cavaliers seem to be in chaos is one headline reported after their General Manager David Griffin left at a critical time.

Apparently Griffin could not get along with Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert who is not satisfied with much of anything about his organization.

This latest flap looks to be all about Dan Gilbert who is never satisfied with much of anything and maybe even thinks that his team plays better in total chaos.

LeBron James tweeted Griffin thanking him for three good years and one first place trophy.

Think of what Cleveland has under the leadership of Griffin. They went to the finals for three years in a row and won one championship. Their fan base sticks to them through thick and thin and they have LeBron James, arguably the best man playing basketball at this time.

However, losing Griffin could hurt the organization greatly and LeBron James is up for grabs starting next summer when his contract expires. Just think of it this way. The team has had four general managers in twelve years and that is no way to make things better for the Cleveland Cavaliers.

I think and have written before about their loss to Golden State just a few weeks ago, it seems to be that LeBron James stopped being the great King James after there was a racial slur written on his front gate of his Brentwood home in Northern California. Just a thought.

This chaos, as it is called, will not help!

Back to football for a few moments. If you look at the NFL teams that are most rooted for in Montana and are closest to us, they probably are Denver, Minneapolis and Seattle.

My question is do any of those three teams have a chance of getting to the Super Bowl?

Minneapolis and their new arena seem to be building their team greatly but yet do not have a great deal to show for it.

Denver has to find a franchise quarterback and had better find one soon. They cannot expect to win games with their defense forever. Then take Seattle. It seems to me that with quarterback Wilson and Coach Pete Carroll, they are always in the hunt. Their problem seems to be bad moves just when they are in the grease and need a very good move. Over the years Seattle fans have seen as many coaching mistakes out of Seattle then anywhere. Am I saying they need a new coach? No, I am saying that their very good coach needs to be even better!

That all said, probably Seattle has the greatest chance to go all the way this season. I don’t know if that will happen or not but it surely will be fun watching to see!!!

That’s my story and I am sticking to it. Go Thunderbirds!
