Longhorns top 'Beeters 36-2, Rocky Boy up next

September 20, 2017

The Chinook High School Football team was on the road this past week in Fort Benton to take on the Longhorns.

The Longhorns scored through the running game and the passing game steadily building a lead in defeating the Sugarbeeters 36-2 in a Northern 8 Man football contest.

With the loss the Sugarbeeters fall to 1-3 overall and 0-2 in the B Subdivision.

Chinook will look to right the ship this Friday when they travel to Rocky Boy to face the Stars.

Currently the Sugarbeeters and the Stars are winless in subdivision play but a win this weekend could give the team some momentum heading down the stretch.

Chinook will return home September 29 when they will welcome the Simms Tigers to Hoon Field.

The contest with the Tigers will culminate Homecoming week for the Sugarbeeters. The contest is also the final scheduled home game and the team will honor its seniors as well at some point during the evening.

The Sugarbeeters still could host one more game depending on how the standings shake out for the week seven seeded playoff contest to determine the Northern Divisions four playoff teams.

If Chinook does not qualify for the post season they have the option of scheduling and additional contest the following week.
