What 'cher point?

Lots happening in the wonderful world of football these days.

Take last weekend for instance.

The Bobcats beat North Dakota 49 to 21, a blowout if there was ever a blowout to be had.

Meanwhile back home in the Grizzly Nation the Griz lost to Eastern Washington 48 to 41. I got both those games wrong as did lots others. The Griz are 2 and 2 for the season. Same with the Bobcats.

Meanwhile closer to home Havre lost to Glendive 36 to 26. Chinook beat Rocky Boy 50 to 0 and Harlem lost to Shelby 61 to 12. The Thunderbirds lost to CJI 56 to 12. Big Sandy beat Sunburst 63 to 26.

Northern lost to Western 61 to 7. Southern Oregon beat Carroll and Rocky beat the College of Oregon 31 to 7.

In the NFL the big game last week were the Broncos taking on and beating the Cowboys 42 to 17. Looking back over those last scores, there surely were a lot of blow outs this last week, weren’t there.

Let’s see what is what after last week in the NFL.

In the American Conference, teams with two wins are Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Denver, Oakland and Kansas City.

Two wins in the Eastern Conference before this weekend included only Carolina.

No wins to date in the National Conference include the Giants, New Orleans, Chicago and San Francisco. No wins to date in the American Conference include the Jets, Indianapolis, Cleveland, Cincinnati, and the Chargers.

My Patriots are looking better they played New Orleans and beat them last week 36 to 20. As I write these words they are leading Houston.

So, that about sums up another exciting week in football.

How about some picks for next week?

Montana State plays Weber State and wins. UM plays Portland State and wins. Northern plays Mayville State. Let’s give that win to Northern just on a whim. Rocky plays Southern Oregon and wins.

Havre plays Sidney and loses. Harlem has the weekend off this weekend. Chinook loses to Simms and the Thunderbirds lose to Belt.

In the mighty NFL, week 4 shakes out this way.

On Thursday the Bears lose to the Packers.

On Sunday the Titans lose to the Texans, the Jaguars beat the Jets and Carolina loses to the Patriots in a hard fought matchup.

The Vikings beat the Lions, the Bills lose to the Falcons, and the Steelers beat the Ravens although this one could go either way.

The Bengals beat the Browns or it could go the other way too, the Cowboys beat the Rams and the Eagles beat the Chargers.

The Giants beat the Buccaneers, the Cards beat the 49ers and the Raiders beat the Broncos.

On Sunday night it is the Seahawks over the Colts and on Monday night it is the Chiefs over the Redskins.

That is my story and I am sticking to it. Go Thunderbirds!
