What 'cher point?

Lately there have been several sports people in Great Falls who are calling for the Grizzlies to get Dave Dickenson back. At present Dickenson is trying to win another gray cup for Calgary but no one denies that he would make a very good head coach. Dickenson was a great player in Great Falls, for the Grizzlies and in Calgary where he is a strong part of the Calgary organization.

Some have even said that former Grizzly Coach Bob Stitt was not even a part of the Grizzly Nation, whatever that means.

As for me, I say bring back Bobby Hauck and get it over with. He was a very good coach and will be an even better coach this time around.

Some sports wags have said that the firing of Stitt shows that the business of coaching is very tough and easy to learn wrong methods. Both Bozeman and Missoula fire with little provocation these days and all that makes one wonder what is going on in those coaching rooms in the first place.

It isn’t building Montana teams as much as it is building national teams.

When Buffalo Bills switched quarterbacks in the middle of the season, they did not get much of any place! They just lost to the Chargers 54 to 24.

Well, let’s see who is Super Bowl bond and who is not this week. Lets take the worst first not going to a Super Bowl period is San Francisco with results of 1 and 9. not much hope for the Giants with their 2 and 8 record,

In the American League huge losers are Cleveland and maybe Denver.

One winner in each portion of the American Conference would bring in the Patriots and Pittsburgh.

In the National Conference it is still Philadelphia. Maybe just for interest add in New Orleans, Minnesota and the L. A. Rams.

There are some facts. What they mean I do not know.

Here are some picks for the coming week.

On Thursday, it is the Redskins over the Cowboys

On Sunday it is the Vikings over the Falcons the titans over the Texans and the Jets over the Chiefs.

It will be the Saints over the Panthers, The Broncos lose to the dolphins and the Lions go over the Ravens.

It is the Patriots over the Bills, the Bears over San Francisco and the Buccaneers over the Packers.

It is the Colts over the Jaguars, the Chargers over the Browns and the Raiders over the Giants.

It is the Sea Hawks stopping Philadelphia in a stunner of a game, and on Monday night it is the Steelers over the Bengals.

That’s my story and I am sticking to it. Go Thunderbirds!
