Bear Paw Meanderings

December 20, 2017

Once again it is that magical time of year called Christmas. To paraphrase Robert Frost, we stop often to watch the falling of downy flake along the streets and boulevards of our home towns or even better, we stop out on Beaver Creek to watch those woods fill up with snow.

Christmas is for giving and those who have been giving all year long certainly know how to do it now. It is a time to share, reflect and wait for the Christ Child to be born and once again come into our homes and families.

In the meantime we light candles, get Yule logs roaring and trim for Christmas the likes of which have never been seen they are of such great beauty.

People string lights outside. I know I do and that for me is a sign that we are waiting for the Christ Child. Our lights tell us that. They are impressive on Sixth Street where I live but not nearly as impressive as at the end of a dark Clear Creek Coulee where it says that a believer lives and that is good.

Mary will have the pipe organ all tuned up at Van Orsdel Methodist Church and the most glorious music will be heard by the choir, the grand organ and the bell choir as well.

All that tells us all that the waiting is almost over now and that on December 25, under twinkling stars and one large star, something grand happened and is happening again.

For you and yours from me and mine, the best and most Merry Christmas ever!
