Janie was never afraid of a hard day at work especially if it meant providing for her family. She worked diligently at many jobs in her lifetime but her true passion was her time spent as a cook. Janie took great pride in all the dishes she created but most loved were her delicious breakfasts, famous potato salad, and chicken fried steak. Janie was also known for her exceptional talent of baking and decorating birthday cakes. Janie began cooking at a young age which led her to manage many kitchens with pride.

On May 2, 2002. Janie would add a new title to her belt one she cherished most in life, she became a grandma. The first of nine grandchildren, a grandson Ridge, followed by another grandson Raider a couple years later. Chenille, her first granddaughter enriched her life in 2006. Janie would be blessed with five more granddaughters; Kaydence, Madysen, Mischa, Mikaya, and kylar before having another grandson Isaac in 2016. Janie was eagerly awaiting the arrival of grandchild number ten in the summer of 2018.

Janie worked hard her entire life. Simple things made her happy but most important was the love and joy she had for her family. Janie would give the shirt off her back to anyone she felt needed it. She could always be counted on to lighten the mood she loved to bring joy to others. She could always be counted on for a good laugh and a hot meal. Janie dedicated much of her time efforts and passions most recently to managing and operating Trout Haven Resort until health complications and a cancer diagnosis prevented her from doing so any longer forcing her into an early retirement.
