'Beeters, Wildcats earn podium spots at Choteau Classic

Harlem senior Gavin Horn controls his opponent in Choteau this past weekend. Horn finished third at the Bulldog Classic going 4-1 in the tournament with all four wins coming by pinfall.
The Harlem Wildcats received a third place effort from senior Gavin Horn and the Chinook Sugarbeeters took wins with all seven wrestlers they entered. The Beeters also placed two on the podium at the Choteau Classic this past Friday and Saturday.
Horn as been consistent for the Wildcats all season and is wrestling at a high level right now.
Horn went 4-1 in the 113 pound weight division at the Classic, winning all four matches by pinfall.
Horn began the tournament with pins over Mathew Bumbarger of Great Falls Central and Garrett Jones of Thomson Falls to reach the Semi-final round.
Horn fell in the Semi's by a 12-8 decision to Dylan Riphenburg of Fairfield. Horn then rebounded to pin his next two opponents, Stephen Schultz of Simms and Walker Murphy of Mission/Charlo to finish third.
Chinook sophomore JT Hauer earned a fourth place finish at 152 pounds, going 3-2 in Choteau. Hauer won his first two matches by pinfall before falling in the semifinals.
The 'Beeters also received a podium finish from freshman Garrett Pruttis who finished sixth 120 pounds. Pruttis went 3-3 in Choteau.
Senior Colton Liddle (132) was 2-2 over the weekend. Junior Tye Mitchell (170) was also 2-2 as was sophomore Reubin Swenson (205). Freshman Favion Couturier (160) went 1-2 at the Classic.
Harlem freshman Andrew Rasmussen also wrestled well for the Wildcats in Choteau, winning three matches over the weekend.
All three Blaine County teams will be in Hays on Thursday, Chinook Friday and in Harlem on Saturday as the regular season begins to wind down.
The Northern B/C Divisional is in Malta, February 3. The State Tournament will be in Billings on February 9-10.
