Pearl Swan

Pearl was born to Frank and Talia (Tillie Trottier) Azure on October 17, 1934 in Ft. Belknap, Montana. She departed this world on February 6th at Northern Montana Hospital and went to a family reunion on the other side. A member of the Little Shell Tribe, Pearl attend schools in Harlem and Flandreau, S.D. (from which she ran away several times). Pearl was very proud when she received her G.E.D. at the age of 51. She made her home in Butte, Harlem, Rocky Boy, Great Falls, Seattle, and in Havre where she spent her later years. Pearl worked at the Harlem Rest Home, as a housekeeper in Seattle, New Horizons in Harlem, the Havre Senior Center and as a care-giver there. She cared very much for people that she took care of. Pearl married Elizario (Lee) Romero and of this union a daughter, Lolita (Lola) was born. She later married Pete Swan. They were together for fifteen years before divorcing.

Pearl is survived by her sons Gordie, Dusty (Sheila), and Bobby (Rose) all of Havre; sister, Iona (Charles) Shilling of Harlem; brothers, Bob Azure of Butte, Frank (Pockets) Azure of Seattle, and Alan (Peggy) of Polson; her grandchildren, including Serenity Romero and children Ah'Dream and Brian Guardipee, Jr .; Autumn Rose Romero and children Santiana and Marcus; Darryl (Becca) Romero and children Lakala-Ray, Amila, and Desiree; Raymon Romero and daughter, Trassa; Wesley Romero, Leah (Dalton) Romero and daughter Amora Pearl; Honesty, Ricky, Navy, Leonidus, Rainbow, Robert, Dakota Rose, Carl Romero; Kaylynn Romero and children Madden and Brian; by special sisters-in-law Lorie Azure and Ann Azure and all her nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her loving dog "Bandit" and cat "Princess".

Pearl was preceded in death by her first husband Lee, daughter Lola, sisters Anna Lee Fetter, Ruby Romero and sister-in-law Mona (Bell) Azure, brother, Gordon and infant brother Frank and parents Frank and Tillie Azure.

Wake/Rosary will be 7:00 P.M., Sunday, February11 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church at Fort Belknap. Mass will be 11:00 A.M., Monday at the church. Burial will be in the Harlem Cemetery. Condolences for the family may be left at http://www.kirkwoodfuneralhome.com.
