Sugarbeeters place two at State B/C Wrestling Tournament, Wildcats place one

The Chinook Sugarbeeter wrestling team performed very well over the weekend at the Montana High School All-Class State Championships in Billings. The Sugarbeeters came away with 43 team points and a second place trophy in the Class C Division. The Sugarbeeters won 11 matches in the tournament with nine of them by way of pin. Sophomore Reubin Swenson went 5-1, winning four matches by pin to earn a third place finish at 205 pounds. Freshman Rebecca Stroh became the first girl ever to finish on the podium at the state B/C tournament after finishing sixth at 103 pounds. Stroh went 3-3 in Billings winning two by pinfall including her opening match which was the first ever all girl match at the state tournament.

The Chinook Sugarbeeter and Harlem Wildcat wrestling teams made their way to the Rimrock Auto Arena in Billings this weekend for the All-Class Montana State High School Wrestling Championships.

The Sugarbeeters took six wrestlers to Billings while the Wildcats had four.

The Sugarbeeters maintained their position as one of the premier wrestling programs in all of Class C after scoring 43 points, placing two on the podium and finishing second in the Class C team standings.

The Sugarbeeters had four wrestlers combine to win a total of 11 matches with nine of those coming by way of pinfall.
