Make it a point to visit the library this month: “Library Lovers Month.” We have put together a “Show a Little Kindness” display with special quotes about kindness from various books. Also we invite you to guess how many candies in the jar! When you check out you will receive a library Valentine!

The regular meeting of the library board of trustees meets today, Feb. 21, 4 P.M. in the meeting room.

“Carnegie’s Maid” is by Marie Benedict, the author of “The Other Einstein.” This work of historical fiction tells the tale of Clara Kelley who left the life of a poor Irish farmer’s daughter to pretend to be an experienced maid in the household of Andrew Carnegie. It takes all her resolve and patience to put up with a mistress who rules with an iron fist. But with her uncanny understanding of business, Clara soon becomes valued as more than just a maid.

Christopher J. Yates has written “Grist Mill Road.” This suspense-filled story takes readers into the lives of Patrick, Matthew and Hannah who meet unexpectedly meet again in New York City. Bound together by a terrible crime that happened twenty-six years earlier, they never could have predicted what devastation awaits.

Bestselling author Jayne Ann Krentz’s latest is “Promise Not to Tell.” Seattle art gallery owner Virginia Troy tries to understand a painting sent to her by one of her artists who took her own life. She doubts it was a suicide and seeks helps from private investigator Cabot Sutter. Cabot and Virginia spent their childhood together in a cult where a fire burned through the compound and took the life of Virginia’s mother. Now they must struggle to unravel the clues in the painting.

“Everything Here Is Beautiful” is by author Mira T. Lee. Miranda is the older, responsible sister who always tries to protect her younger sister Lucia who is headstrong and impetuous. When their mother dies and Lucia begins to hear voices, Miranda must try to reach her little sister. As Lucia continues to make unpredictable, life-changing choices it is apparent she suffers from mental illness. Can Miranda rescue her sister when Lucia doesn’t want to be saved?

The new Preston and Child novel is “City of Endless Night.” Graze Ozmian, the daughter of a wealthy tech billionaire, goes missing. Her headless body is found in an abandoned warehouse in Queens. Lieutenant Vincent D’Agosta along with FBI special agent A.X.L. Pendergast collaborate on the investigation. A diabolical presence haunts New York City and Grace is only the first of many victims.

Leila Slimani’s debut novel is the thriller “The Perfect Nanny.” “Close Enough to Touch” is a heart-wrenching and humorous love story by Colleen Oakley. Pierce Brown’s next “Red Rising” science fiction novel is “Iron Gold.”

The Feb. Book Challenge is to read a book with food in the title. Contact the library when you have completed your book to enter your name in the drawing for a gift certificate from a local business.

Remember Books and Babies meets Tuesdays at 10 A.M. Story Hour is held Fridays at 10 A.M. Lego Club meets Thursdays at 4:30 P.M.
