The girls Tornado basketball team was sent off to the Divisional tournament with a community Pep Rally this past Tuesday evening at the Turner Old Gym.

A taco dinner was served following a pep rally involving school students, parents, community members, and coaches. Everybody had a part in this event and it was obvious that the community supports their students 100% as the gym was full.

This is the first time Turner has had a girls team advance to Divisional since the 1996-1997 season. Everyone was very excited that the girls would be going and they wanted to show their support in any way possible.

The team was presented a long stem rose by the Tornado boys' team and the elementary students said a cute cheer. Several members led the guests in a couple other cheers and the school song. Pep Club adviser, Cindy Cowan, did an outstanding job and put in countless hours making this event such a memorable event.

Thanks to parents, volunteers, and community members for donating and giving a helping hand in any way needed.
