This year’s Community Chest Fund Drive in Chinook will take p lace Wednesday, May 2, a t 5:30 p.m. The purpose of Community Chest is to alleviate each organization from going door-to-door soliciting donations. The drive provides local funding for Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, Food Pantry, AAU Wrestling, Youth Baseball/Softball, Youth Soccer, MCT, Swim Team and PAWS.
Without area residents’ support, many of these programs would not be available to the youth in the community. Those that participate in these organizations or would just like to help collect are encouraged to attend the fund drive.
As in the past, the drive headquarters will be the Girl Scout House at Sweet Park. Residents are asked to be ready for the volunteers who will be going door-to-door in neighborhoods throughout the city. Envelopes will be left at unoccupied homes for the residents to use when they return home.
