Chinook Chamber celebrates Public Service Recognition Week 2018

Chinook Area Chamber officers, Chamber board members and local civil servants dish up ice cream during a celebration event for national Public Service Recognition Week. About 200 public servants live in the Chinook area and work at all levels of government. This was the first time the Chamber hosted the event and organizers are hoping it will continue as an annual event.

The Chinook Area Chamber of Commerce hosted an ice cream social last week to celebrate Public Service Recognition Week (PSRW). The annual week to salute employees in the public sector began in 1985 to "honor the men and women who serve our nation as federal, state, county and local government employees." The kickoff to Public Service Recognition Week this year included a Presidential Proclamation and bipartisan resolutions from both the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives recognizing the nation's civil servants "for their hard work and willingness to serve their fellow citizens."...
