Harlem Senior Center to host presentation on 'Senior Scams'

May 16, 2018

Have you ever received a very official looking letter from someone or an organization claiming you owe them money?

Have you ever received an unsolicited email or phone call from someone asking for your credit card, bank account or personal identifying information like your birthday or social security number?

Cyber attacks are on the rise and elder fraud abuse is a growing threat, in part because of increased access to victims through technology and the aging of the wealthy Baby Boomer generation.

Undersheriff Frank Billmayer will be presenting on Senior Scams and how to protect yourself, your data including your identity and your loved ones from different types of scams, fraud and theft directed at the aging population. Pie, tea, and coffee will be served.
