JUMP, the interdenominational youth group for junior and senior high students in Chinook, has staged a raffle for several weeks to help pay for a new heating unit for Wallner Hall. Funds raised through the raffle and other donations will be used to replace an aging and failing furnace in the event center adjacent to the United Methodist Church.

The raffle offered a chance for each of two winners to receive a quarter of beef. The winners were drawn Sunday after services at the Methodist Church in Chinook. Winners were Betty Lou Stender and Perry Miller. Organizers of various fundraisers and the raffle to underwrite the new furnace believe they are close to having the necessary funds to replace the needed unit.
