June 13, 2018

The Blaine County Library Board of Trustees will hold their regular monthly meeting Friday June 22, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the library meeting room.

If you are planning a road trip be sure to stop in and get some audio books to make the trip more enjoyable. We also offer downloadable audio and eBooks through MontanaLibrary2Go. You can find a link on our website or come into the library and we can get you started with downloadable content.

“Sweet Vengeance” by Fern Michaels is a deeply satisfying and uplifting story of one woman’s journey from heartbreak to triumph. “To the Moon and Back” is the latest romance by Karen Kingsbury. “The Patchwork Bride” by Sandra Dallas is an irrepressible story of a runaway bride. In “Us Against You” Fredrik Backman reveals how loyalty, friendship, and kindness can carry a town through its most challenging days. “The Restless Wave” is John McCain’s highly anticipated biography.

There is still plenty of time to get your kids signed up to participate in the Summer Reading Program. Children who join the summer reading program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed. For every two hours read, kids will be able to enter their name into our Summer Reading prize drawings. There will also be small prizes awarded for every two-hour entry. Pre-readers are encouraged to participate by having someone read to them. We have computers available for taking Accelerated Reader tests, so kids will be able to get a head start on AR points for the fall. Zurich students are now able to take AR tests at the library during the summer.

Our summer programs will begin after Loaves & Fishes each day. We will show a family friendly movie every Monday at 1:30 p.m. “Sheep and Wolves” will be the movie June 18th. It is rated PG and running time is 77 minutes. Summer Storytime for kids ages 5 and under will take place every Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. and will last approximately 30 minutes. The Summer Storytime program is tailored to the needs and interests of a younger age group and is a great opportunity for your younger children to get involved with our Summer Library activities. Each week we’ll read stories, sing songs, and make crafts. There will be a Summer Library Program every Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. beginning June 5th and ending July 31st. Each program will last around 45 to 60 minutes. There will be stories, games, crafts, and treats each week. Wednesdays will be LEGO Club from 1:30-2:30 p.m. for kids K through 6. Younger kids are welcome to attend with adult supervision. Thursdays will be Middle School Hangout from 1:30-2:30 p.m. This program is for kids going into grades 6 through 8.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http: http://www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!

Always look on the bright side of life. Otherwise it’ll be too dark to read. — Unknown
