Turner American Legion announces Essay Contest winners

Each year the Turner American Legion Auxiliary sponsors an American Essay Contest for students in grades 5-12. Grade levels are divided into classes, and a certain word requirement must be met within that age level. One award in each competing class is presented in each division. The local winners were recently judged and winners were announced this past week at the Turner School by Auxiliary member, Mrs. Brenda Mohar.

Division I winners were Cassidy Grabofsky and Emma Timmons. Cassidy is the daughter of Crystal and Michael Grabofsky. Emma is the daughter of Aimee and P.J. Timmons.

Junior and Senior High Essay winners were also announced recently this week by Mrs. Brenda Mohar. They are as follows: Raegan Conlan, Brooke Reed, Clayton Krass, Jack Harmon, Auxiliary member-Brenda Mohar, and Junior High Winners, Laci Maloney and Colten Jorgenson.

Raegan is the daughter of Conita and Tim Conlan, Brooke is the daughter of Anita and Steve Reed, Clayton is the son of Jill and Lorin Krass, Jack is the son of Shelly and Jon Harmon, Laci is the daughter of Brenda and Chris Maloney, and Colten is the son of Heather and Casey Jorgenson. Congratulations to all these students. God Bless America!


Grades 3 and 4 age group winners were Abigail Grabofsky and Wrien Wolery. Abby is the daughter of Sadie and Matthew Grabofsky while Wrien is the daughter of Leesha and Chet Wolery. Their teacher at school is Mrs. Kelly Cederberg.
