Blaine County Library

May 16, 2018

If you have been to the library in the last few weeks, you may have noticed we have a new library clerk. We would like to welcome Stephanie Billmayer-Silva to our staff. Stephanie grew up in the area and graduated from Chinook High School. She is now back in Chinook with her husband and daughter. You will be seeing a lot of Stephanie while Kelsey is on maternity leave. Congratulations to Kelsey and Gabe on the arrival of their daughter!

Before Kelsey left she did a new display of gardening books. This has been a very popular book display and we have had to replenish it several times. Now that the weather has improved many patrons are out working in their yards and thinking about gardens. If you need a little inspiration or just a few new ideas, stop in and check out a book or two from the display table.

I would like to remind patrons of some of the services available at the library. We have public access computers, wireless Internet and printing. We can send or receive a fax. We show a movie for adults Wednesday afternoons at 1:00 p.m. from September to May. We have books, audio books, movies, newspapers and magazines available for checkout. We have several book club kits and we can borrow kits from other libraries. We have downloadable audio and eBooks through MontanaLibrary2Go. We have home delivery of library materials for patrons who are home bound or unable to get out due to the weather. We have historic newspapers and marriage records on microfilm. We have a public meeting room. We do Story Time at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday mornings (except in May and August). We have a Summer Reading Program in June & July: Beat the Heat Family Movie at 1:30 p.m. on Mondays, Story Time for ages 5 and under Tuesdays at 10:30 Summer Library Program at 1:30 Tuesdays, LEGO Club from 1:30-2:30 Wednesdays for grades K-6 and Middle School Hangout from 1:30-2:30 Thursdays for grades 6-8.

Be sure to check out the on-going book sale in the entryway. You may find something you just can't do without! All proceeds from our book sales go into our memorial fund and are used for special programming and items to enhance the library.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what's going on!
