New movies available this week are Pacific Rim and Pacific Rim Uprising.

We have two non-fiction books ready for checkout this week. "The Last Cowboys: A Pioneer Family in the West" by John Branch, is a gripping portrait of one family's gamble that rodeo and ranching are the future of the West and not just its past. "How to Change Your Mind: What the New Science of Psychedelics Teaches Us About Consciousness, Dying, Addiction, Depression, and Transcendence" by Michael Pollan is an investigation into the medical and scientific revolution taking place around psychedelic drugs--and the spellbinding story of his own life-changing psychedelic experiences.

If you are planning a road trip be sure to stop in and get some audio books to make the trip more enjoyable. We also offer downloadable audio and eBooks through MontanaLibrary2Go. You can find a link on our website or come into the library and we can get you started with downloadable content.

There is still plenty of time to get your kids signed up to participate in the Summer Reading Program. Children who join the summer reading program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed. For every two hours read, kids will be able to enter their name into our Summer Reading prize drawings. There will also be small prizes awarded for every two-hour entry. Pre-readers are encouraged to participate by having someone read to them. We have computers available for taking Accelerated Reader tests, so kids will be able to get a head start on AR points for the fall. Zurich students are now able to take AR tests at the library during the summer.

Our summer programs begin after Loaves & Fishes each day. "Sea Monsters" will be the movie Monday July 2nd. It is not rated and running time is 75 minutes. Summer Storytime for kids ages 5 and under is Tuesday morning at 10:30 a.m. and runs approximately 30 minutes. The Summer Storytime program is tailored to the needs and interests of a younger age group and is a great opportunity for your younger children to get involved with our Summer Library activities. Each week we read stories, sing songs, and make crafts. There is a Summer Library Program Tuesday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. Each program will last around 45 to 60 minutes. There will be stories, games, crafts, and treats each week. Wednesday afternoon is LEGO Club from 1:30-2:30 p.m. for kids K through 6. Younger kids are welcome to attend with adult supervision. Thursday Middle School Hangout is from 1:30-2:30 p.m. This program is for kids going into grades 6 through 8.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http: http://www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what's going on!

"I must say I find television very educational. The minute somebody turns it on, I go into the library and read a good book." - Groucho Marx
