Remember September is Library Card Sign-Up Month! You may get your very own free library card by registering at the library. You will need to bring a current photo ID, a working phone number and current mailing address. When you register you will be entered to win a free book!

The Book Club members may pick up their copy of “Run” by Ann Patchett this week. The first discussion will be Monday, September 24, 4 P.M. in the meeting room. We always welcome new members.

Congratulations to Dana Azure who was the lucky winner of the $50 gift card for the Adult Summer Reading “Letter by Letter” game. Thanks to all who participated!

The library is kicking off a new After School Story Hour on Wednesday, October 3 from 3:30-4:30. Children ages 4 up through grade 5 are invited to attend. We will have regular After School Story Hour every Wednesday and a special “Maker Space” edition on the last Wednesday of each month.


The library board of trustees will meet Wednesday, September 26 at 4:15 P.M. in the library meeting room.

New books for your reading pleasure include “Clock Dance” by Anne Tyler. In this novel of self-discovery and second chances readers will meet Willa Drake who can count on one hand the defining moments of her life including the disappearance of her mother, her marriage proposal, the death of her husband and her wish to become a grandmother. After a phone call from a stranger Willa flies to Baltimore to care for a young woman she has never met, her nine-year-old daughter and their dog, Airplane.

“A Gathering of Secrets” is the latest novel by Linda Castillo. When a historic barn burns to the ground Chief of Police Kate Burkholder is called to investigate. The body of Daniel Gingerich, a young Amish man, is found inside. The silence of the Amish community stonewalls Kate’s investigation. Determined to keep digging to find the truth, Kate discovers a series of crimes that shatters everything she thought she knew about her Amish roots.


New nonfiction selections include “Lady Long Rider: Alone Across America on Horseback” which tells the stories of Bernice Ende’s solitary horseback trek’s of more than 29,000 miles crisscrossing North America. We also have two new books about western photographer Evelyn Cameron who spent thirty-four years documenting eastern Montana.

Riley Sager is the author of “The Last Time I Lied.” Two Truths and a Lie is a game popular with young girls at Camp Nightingale. But one night fifteen years ago Vivian, Natalie, and Allison snuck out of their cabin never to be seen again, leaving first-time camper Emma behind. Now a famous painter, Emma is asked to return to Camp Nightingale as a painting instructor and hopes to use the opportunity to find out what happened to her friends all those years ago. But what Emma uncovers about Camp Nightingale reveals deadly threats.
