After School Story Hour meets today from 3:30-4:30. There will be no After School Story on Halloween, Oct. 31.The library board of trustees meets today at 4:15 P.M. Lego Club meets on Thursdays at 4:30 P.M. and Books and Babies is held Tuesdays at 10 A.M.

Book Club members may pick up the new book “Pachinko” this week. The first discussion will be Oct. 29, 4 P.M.

Mark your calendars for the Holiday Wine and Cheese fundraiser which will be held December 5.

“Watching You” is the new gripping novel by Lisa Jewel. You have a new husband and are back home after living four years abroad. Until you find a place of your own you are living in your brother’s spare bedroom. Then you meet the man next door who is a teacher at the local high school. He is twice your age and attractive. Soon you are watching him, but what you don’t know is that someone is watching you.


A civil war trilogy by Karl A. Bacon includes “Until Shiloh Comes,” “Prairie Dog Town,” and “The Gates of Sheol.”

A new Brady suspense novel by J.A. Jance is “Field of Bones.” Dean Koontz has written “The Forbidden Door,” a Jane Hawk novel. Book 3 in the Golden Gate Secrets series by Tracie Peterson is “In Times Gone By.”

“Vox” is written by Christina Dalcher. The U.S. government decrees that women are not allowed to speak more than one hundred words per day. Dr. Jean McClellan can’t believe this could happen...not in America. Soon women are not permitted to hold jobs and girls cannot learn to read and write. But Dr. McClellan is determined that she and her daughter will not be silenced.

Remember during the month of October you can Buy a Bag O’Books! Come fill a plastic grocery sack full of used books for only one dollar.

The Friends of the Library welcomes new members! This group supports and promotes the library and its activities. If you are interested in becoming a member you may stop by the library and pay your annual dues of $10 or you may send them to PO Box 172, Turner, MT, 59542.

You are encouraged to check out the Young Adult section. We have several new titles including “Sadie” by Courtney Summers, “Ghost” by Jason Reynolds, “Bridge of Clay” by Markus Zusak, and “Toil and Trouble” by Jessica Spotswood.

Library History Trivia: Dorothy Brower became the librarian in 1959 and enrolled in library science courses at the University of Montana and at Eastern Montana College.
