November 7, 2018

The Harlem Lady Cat Volleyball season ended this past weekend in Cut Bank at the Northern B Divisional.

The trip marked the Lady Cats second consecutive appearance at the Divisional tournament as the program continues to build.

Harlem entered at the No. 4 seed out of the District 2B and opened with the top ranked and undefeated Choteau Bulldogs.

The girls would fall in three sets25-13, 25-9 and 25-10 but competed every step of the way. Sophomore Aspen Baker recorded four kills in the match while sophomore Taeshon Schaeffer dug up 12 balls for the team.

The loss sent the girls into Loser Out action where they would face a familiar face from the District 2B, the Malta M-ettes. The match started out very well for Harlem as they took an early lead and maintained the advantage to secure a 25-17 first set win.

The M-ettes responded in a big way, taking the next three sets 25-17, 25-12 and 25-9 to end the Lady Cats season.

Sophomore Aria Owens led the team with five kills. Schaeffer added 8 assists and along with senior Skylee Dirden, dug up 16 balls each.

The Lady Cats will now begin preparing for next season and will return a solid base to continue building the program.
