The library will be closed Thanksgiving Day, but we will be open Friday, Nov. 23. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The library board will meet Tuesday, Nov. 27, 4:15 in the library meeting room.

Don’t miss the Creative Christmas program December 3, 7 P.M. with guest crafter Heather Jorgenson. She will share festive ideas for the holidays. Refreshments will be served. Bring a friend and all ages are welcome to join us for this fun evening.

The Friends of the Library annual Holiday Wine and Cheese Fundraiser is set for December 5, 6 P.M. There will be live and silent auctions items, door prizes, a 50/50 drawing and of course fabulous refreshments and wines for tasting and to bid on. Tickets will be on sale at the library.

The year is quickly drawing to a close and you are reminded of the 2018 Reading Challenge to read 52 books (or more) this year. If you meet this challenge let the library know and your name will be entered to win a gift basket which includes a $25 gift card.


This month’s Book Challenge is to read a book with an orange cover or spine. When you complete the challenge contact the library and you may win a $10 gift certificate from a local business.

Gilly MacMillan is the author of “I Know You Know.” Filmmaker Cody Swift has been haunted for twenty years by the murders of his childhood friends. With unanswered questions still on his mind, Cody returns to Bristol hoping to uncover new evidence. But there are many who don’t want old wounds reopened. “In His Father’s Footsteps” is a new Danielle Steel novel. Friends Jakob and Emmanuelle are concentration camp survivors who make their way to New York. Their friendship develops into love and marriage as they struggle to make a living on the Lower East Side. Decades later Jakob has achieved success in the diamond business and his son Max is a graduate a Harvard who marries a perfect bride intending to make his own fortune. But as his family grows Max finds his marriage failing. He now realizes he must truly walk in his father’s footsteps and struggle to set an example for his children.

Two new nonfiction selections are “Almost Everything: Notes on Hope” by Anne Lamott and “Brief Answers to Big Questions” by Stephen Hawking.

“Becoming Mrs. Lewis” by Patti Callahan is the historical fiction story of Joy Davidman who loved and married famous author C.S. Lewis.

Other new books include “Crisis” a Dick Francis novel by Felix Francis, “Red War” by Vince Flynn, and “With You Always” by Rena Olsen.

The Book Club meets on Monday, Nov. 26 to complete the discussion of “Pachinko.” We will meet again in January to read and discuss “The Great Alone” by Kristin Hannah.

The After School Story Hour meets on Wednesdays at 3:30 P.M. Books and Babies is held on Tuesdays at 10 A.M. and Lego Club meets on Thursdays at 4:30 P.M.
