Thunderbirds begin 9C play 2-0, Harlem, Chinook and Turner split

District 9c and 2B play got underway this weekend with the Harlem Wildcats jumping out to a big lead early and then holding on for a 51-48 win over the visiting Malta M-ettes. The Hays/Lodge Pole Thunderbirds outlasted the Chinook Sugarbeeters 43-34 to begin the season and the Turner Tornadoes stormed back in the fourth quarter to win their opener 53-51 over the North Star Knights.

The Thunderbirds had their home opener Saturday as they welcomed the Chester/Joplin-Inverness Hawks to town.
