December 26, 2018

The Library will be closed Tuesday January 1, 2019 in observance of New Year’s. We will be open regular hours the rest of the week.

The movie today will be “The Great Outdoors” at 1:00 p.m. in the library meeting room. The movie is rated PG, and it runs for one hour and 31 minutes. Everyone is welcome to attend, and refreshments will be served. “The Black Stallion” will be the movie next Wednesday. If anyone has a request for a movie, just let us know and we will do our best to show it. You can also let Marlene at the Senior Center know what you’d like to see.

The House with a clock in its Walls is a new movie available this week.

Jessica Mason isn’t looking for love when she meets Ridley Chesterfield. Instead she is still reeling from the tragic, unexpected loss of her husband and daughter—and awaiting the arrival of her unborn child. Harboring the secret of her husband’s betrayal, her pain is deeper than anyone knows. Ridley Chesterfield is hiding out in Hope Springs, Idaho, avoiding a political scandal and the barrage of false media headlines that have tarnished his good name. The last thing Ridley wants is a relationship—but when fate leads Ridley to form a friendship with his reclusive and pregnant neighbor, he wonders if this small-town hideout might be more of a long-term destination. For these two broken hearts, the first step toward love will be a huge leap of faith in “Who I am With You” by Robin Lee Hatcher. “The Songbird” by Marcia Willett is a heartwarming novel about family, yearning, and whether love can bloom where old secrets are buried. “Wild Justice” by Loren Estleman is a riveting western novel starring beloved character Page Murdock. We have one non-fiction book ready this week. “Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts.” by Brene Brown is a practical and insightful guide to courageous leadership. This book is a road map for anyone who wants to step up and into brave leadership.

Story Time is Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. Kids of all ages and abilities are welcome to attend. Middle School Hangout, for kids in grades 6-8 is held on Tuesday afternoons at 3:30 p.m. LEGO Club is Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m. and is open to kids in grades K-6.
