The evening with local author Jack G. Young event has been moved from February 19 to February 20, 6:30 P.M. due to a conflict. Tickets are on sale at the library through January 25. Ticket prices include the purchase of one or both books as well as a soup supper meal. Tickets for just the meal are also available. Jack will showcase his two books “Down Range” and “The Wolf” by presenting readings from each book. He will also hold a question and answer session and book signings. Please call the library at 353-2712 for more information. Stop by the library this week to buy your tickets.

The Book Challenge for January is to read a book you meant to read in 2018. You are encouraged to join the 2019 Reading Challenge to read 52 (or more!) books in 2019.

The regular meeting of the library board of trustees is January 30, 4:15 P.M. in the library meeting room.

The library has on display information about the Montana Talking Book Library from Montana State Library. This service is available for those who can no longer read standard print materials due to vision loss, physical limitations, or reading difficulties. The free service provides door-to-door delivery of a growing collection of digital audio and Braille materials. Stop by the library to find out more information and to pick up application forms.


“Maze Master” is a new scientific thriller by Kathleen O’Neal Gear. A new unstoppable retrovirus, LucentB, is threatening to destroy humanity. The US government believes the only person to find the cure is the geneticist who warned them about it and then disappeared. Known as the Maze Master he leaves clues which take searchers around the world and into a war zone they never imagined.


Jean Thompson has written “A Cloud in the Shape of a Girl.” This moving family saga tells about three generations of women who struggle to find freedom and happiness in their small Midwestern college town.

“Under My Skin” is by Lisa Unger. Poppy’s husband was murdered and she spiraled into an oblivion of grief in which she disappeared for days only to turn up confused and wearing a red dress she didn’t recognize. Now a year later she starts having nightmares and blackouts. Poppy senses someone following her and is plunged into a game of cat and mouse trying to solve the mystery of her husband’s death.

Adriana Trigiani is the author of “Tony’s Wife.” Chi Chi Donatelli and Saverio Armandonada meet on the Jersey Shore one summer before WWII. Two singers they form a successful duo who perform in nightclubs, on radio and television. But soon they must deal with the price of fame and its impact on their relationship and family.

Other new titles include “Target Alex Cross” by James Patterson, “Summer at the Garden Café” by Felicity Hayes-McCoy, and “Robert B. Parker’s Blood Feud” by Mike Lupica.

The Book Club meets Mondays at 4:00 P.M. Books and Babies is held on Tuesdays at 10:00 A.M. After School Story Hour meets on Wednesdays at 3:30 P.M. and Lego Club is held Thursdays at 4:30.

Tech Time is held every Wednesday from 1:00-2:00 P.M. Carly will assist with your technology questions to the best of her knowledge. Call the library or stop by with the device you have questions about.

Library History Trivia: On January 30, 1968, the library was totally destroyed by fire when the Civic Center burned. Temporary quarters were set up in the Buckley Building on Main Street with a collection of donated books.
