Blaine County Library

March 13, 2019

Due to the renovation of our restrooms, we will not be showing a Wednesday movie for the month of March. Story Time, Middle School Hangout and LEGO Club will continue at their regular times.

During the month of March, the display table will have a selection of books with the words Irish, Lucky or Green in the title to celebrate Saint Patrick’s Day. Luck is finding the perfect book!

Free People Reading Freely Book Club will meet Monday April 8th at 7:00 p.m. Anyone is welcome to attend. We have a list of banned books to choose from. If there is a banned book a participant would like to read that the library doesn’t have, we would be happy to get a copy.

Instant Family is the only new movie ready to go this week. We have two non-fiction books available this week. In “Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals” author Rachel Hollis challenges to women everywhere to stop talking themselves out of their dreams. Hollis identifies the excuses to let go of, the behaviors to adopt, and the skills to acquire on the path to growth, confidence, and believing in yourself. “The Art of Dying Well: A Practical Guide to a Good End of Life” by Katy Butler is about living as well as possible for as long as possible and adapting successfully to change. Butler shows how to thrive in later life (even when coping with a chronic medical condition), how to get the best from our health system, and how to make your own “good death” more likely. This handbook of step by step preparations—practical, communal, physical, and sometimes spiritual—will help you make the most of your remaining time, be it decades, years, or months.

“The Silent Patient” by Alex Michaelides, “Cemetery Road” by Greg Isles, “The Lost Night” by Andrea Bartz and “The Black Ascot” by Charles Todd are thrillers ready for checkout this week.

It’s been a while since we thanked patrons for donations made to the library. Monetary donations are deposited in our Memorial Fund and used to purchase things to support library programs or used for specific purchases or programs.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
