Harlem junior standout made a verbal commitment to play basketball for the Montana State University Skylights upon completion of her high school career a week ago at the Hi-line Invitational All-Star Tournament.

Tuesday afternoon in Harlem she made it official by signing her Letter of Intent in front of her hometown fans, but more importantly with her parents Marlin and Bethany beside her, and of course her teammates that mean the world to her.

Lawrence made her mark at the varsity level the very first time she stepped on the court at the Native American Classic against Box Elder as a freshman. That game was played on the very court she will now call home at MSU-Northern.

Lawrence has been a cornerstone of the Lady Cats rise to the top of the District 2B as well as the Northern B. Former Head Coach Laramie Schwenke helped mold her and the program into complete players and team.

This past season the Lady Cats were under the direction of her Dad, Marlin Lawrence as he took over the head coaching duties after serving as an assistant the previous two seasons. This year Lawrence helped lead the team to a regular season conference championship, a District 2B runner up finish, a Northern B championship and a first ever appearance at the State B Tournament.

"She's one of the best players in the state," Right now. And she has a full year left to play. So we're very glad and very excited that she chose Northern, and it's really good for her to do this now because then she can sit back and focus on having a great senior year and on trying to help Harlem win a state championship," said MSU-Northern Skylight Head Coach Chris Mouat. "We're so glad L'Tia chose us, we're really excited about it," Mouat said. "She's a great player, a great student and a tremendous person."
