Chinook will send eight golfers to the State C Tournament in Seeley, May 14-15

The Sugarbeeter golf teams closed out the regular season with a bang this past weekend at invitationals in Harlem and Chinook.
Friday, teams gathered in Harlem for the Wildcat Invitational. The 'Beeter girls won yet another team title, winning the Class tournament with a score of 413 (Top 4 Scores).
Senior Ashley MacLeod finished third after posting a 44-51 94. Sophomore Alyssa Gruszie was fourth with a round of 48-48 96, sophomore Hailey Bell was fifth posting a score of 51-49 100.
For the boys, senior Ty Overcast finished ninth with a round of 56-64 120.
Saturday in Chinook the girls kept rolling, winning their own invitational with a team score of 297 (Top 3 Scores).
Ashley MacLeod posted a career best 43-44 87 to win the girls individual title. Bell finished second with a 50-45 95.
For the boys, freshman Braden Eoff went out in 49 and came in with a 48 to post a 97. Eoff's score qualifies him for the State C Tournament making him the third boy to qualify, allowing the 'Beeters to qualify as a team.
The Sugarbeeters also did well in the junior varsity tournament. Sophomore Reese Elliot scored a 51-54 105 to finish first while junior Erik Pula was third with a 56-59 115.
The Harlem Wildcats had seven golfers in the field Saturday in Chinook. Five competed in the Varsity tournament. Freshman R.J. Ramone led the way with a 55-52 107.
Josh Horn finished second for the Wildcats in the junior varsity tournament after recording a round of 58-55 113.
The Chinook Sugarbeeters will take eight golfers to the State C Golf Tournament in Seeley, May 14-15.
The 'Beeters will send five girls; Senior Ashley MacLeod, junior Anna Getten, sophomore Hailey Bell, sophomore, Crystal Hofer and senior Kendra McMaster as the alternate.
Three Sugarbeeter boys will make the trip; Senior Chase Moxley, sophomore Ethan MacLeod and freshman Braden Eoff, who qualified Saturday in Chinook.
At the State C, teams can play up to four golfers and count the best three scores towards their team score. Individual medalist include the top fifteen scores plus ties. Those players will also earn All-State recognition.
The girls have finished third the past two seasons and look to bring back hardware again this spring. The 'Beeters have brought home either a boys or girls trophy from the State Tournament the past seven years.
