Under the direction of teacher adviser Mrs. Emily Scofield, the MBI student leadership team (SLT) at Meadowlark Elementary School hosted a talent showcase on Monday, May 20 at 2:00 in the school's gymnasium. This was a student led project featuring talent from students in grades 4-6.

"The school I attended previously put on a talent show, and it was fun, so I shared the idea with our student leadership team," SLT member Brianna Boettcher said.

Mrs. Jill Paulsen's fifth graders launched the talent show by becoming a "Human Knot." Several musical pieces followed. These included the guitar duo, Ayden Alisch and Noah Pomeroy, who played two songs-one from the band Metallica and the other from White Stripes; rapper Kegan Green who staged an original rap entitled "The Me"; vocalist Hannah Schoen who sang "Dear Boys at My School" by Caroline Manning; and drum soloist Ryder Hofeldt; Another musical piece, the popular song "Cups" by Anna Kendrick was performed by Kylee Green, Kirbey Hofeldt, Eleanor SeRoy, Mara Edwards, and Olivia Bartlett.

Additional talent entertained the audience when Shae Shackelford, Rilee Molyneaux, Cayla Hofer, Jeni Mord, and Madilynn Gruszie-who call themselves "Take 5"-danced to a compilation of different songs. They were followed by a comedy act featuring Falyn Cercle, Sara Chaffin, and Olivia Bartlett whose routine involved some gymnastics. The show concluded with another comedy, song, and dance presentation by Gracie Skoyen and Mekayla Brown.
