Summer Reading Programs are well underway. It's not too late to sign children up to participate. Children who participate in the summer reading program keep their minds active and enter school in the fall ready to learn and ready to succeed. For every two hours read, kids will be able to enter their name into our Summer Reading prize drawings. There will also be small prizes awarded for every two hour entry. Pre-readers are encouraged to participate by having someone read to them. We have fun programs and events for children of all ages. We have computers available for taking Accelerated Reader tests for Chinook schools and Zurich. The theme for this year's Summer Reading Program is A Universe of Stories.

Activities for the summer will be Movie Mondays at 1:30 p.m. This will be a family friendly movie and everyone is welcome to attend. Storytime for children ages 5 and under will be Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. The Summer Reading Program will be Tuesday afternoons at 1:30 for all ages. Wednesdays will be Middle School Hangout for kids entering grades 6 through 8 at 1:30 p.m. Thursdays will be LEGO Club/STEM Club at 1:30 p.m. for grades K through 6. Older kids interested in LEGO Club and STEM Club are welcome to attend as are Pre-K children if accompanied by an adult. We have started a new program this summer called Books and Babies which is Friday mornings at 10:30 a.m. This program is designed for building language, motor, and social skills for babies and their mommies.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http:www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what's going on!
