Blaine County Library
June 26, 2019
The library is hosting a Humanities Montana presentation by Joan Bird tonight, June 26th at 6:00 p.m. The presentation is UFOs and Extraterrestrials in Montana. It is intended for teens and adults. Bird is the author of "Montana UFOs and Extraterrestrial: Extraordinary Stories of Documented Sightings and Encounters" which is available for checkout at the library. Refreshments will be served.
We have a special program scheduled for next week as well. Plan to stop in Tuesday July 2nd to gaze at the stars in the Planetarium, which will be set up in the meeting room from 10 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
We have a number of new movies and a variety for new books ready for checkout this week.
New movies are: Run the Race, Wonder Park, Norm of the North: Keys to the Kingdom and Norm of the North: King Sized Adventure, Mortal Engines and Fighting with My Family.
"Mrs. Everything" by Jennifer Weiner is a timely exploration of two sisters' lives from the 1950s to the present as they struggle to find their places-and be true to themselves-in a rapidly evolving world. Four siblings experience the drama, intrigue, and upheaval of a summer when everything changed, in "Summer of '69" which is author Elin Hilderbrand's first historical novel. What might have been? That tantalizing question propels a woman on a cross-country adventure to reunite with the men she loved and let go, in "Lost and Found" by Danielle Steel.
Activities for the summer will be Movie Mondays at 1:30 p.m. This will be a family friendly movie and everyone is welcome to attend. Storytime for children ages 5 and under will be Tuesday mornings at 10:30 a.m. The Summer Reading Program will be Tuesday afternoons at 1:30 for all ages. Wednesdays will be Middle School Hangout for kids entering grades 6 through 8 at 1:30 p.m. Thursdays will be LEGO/STEM Club at 1:30 p.m. for grades K through 6. Older kids interested in LEGO/STEM Club are welcome to attend, as are Pre-K children if accompanied by an adult. We have started a new program this summer called Books and Babies which is Friday mornings at 10:30 a.m. This program is designed for building language, motor, and social skills for babies and their mommies.
