Something for everyone at the Fair

June 26, 2019

The Blaine County Fair is something everyone looks forward to each summer. The dates of the fair change from year to year, but the excitment of going remains the same.

In the 80's the fair took place at the end of August, and provided a great reprieve from the hassles of the first days of school. From that point on the fair has been moved up a little bit every few years.

This year the Blaine County Fair takes place over the Fourth of July weekend and will also coinside with the Chinook High School All-Class Reunion.

The Blaine County Fair gets underway on Wednesday, July 3 with the ever popular Kids Rodeo at 1:00 p.m., and concludes on Sunday, July 7 with the Blaine County Showdown Demolition Derby at 3:00 p.m.

From the very young to the most seasoned fairgoer there is something for all to enjoy. There are 4-H and FFA Livestock shows, as well as projects including woodworking, quilting, cooking, gardening, photography and so much more to take in.

This year, the Open Class has expanded to allow a wider array of entries, and the commercial building will again be full of vendors.

One thing everyone looks forward to when fair season rolls around is the food. The VFW, the Lions, the Chuckwagon and the Eagles all provide delicious food and everyone seems to be in line to get a scone or sconito from the Funshine Preschool booth.

The midway will again be filled with the carnival and vendors of various types.

Pig Wrestling will certainly attract a grand stand crowd 4th of July night beginning at 7:00 p.m.

See you at the Fair!
