“Deception Cove” is by Owen Laukanen. Mason Burke has just been released after serving fifteen years in state prison. He is now seeking to find Lucy, the service dog he trained while behind bars. When Mason turns up on Jess’s doorstep he finds her in a standoff with the country sheriff. Jess’s late husband stole and stashed a valuable package from his drug-dealer that the sheriff wants. The sheriff is holding Lucy and she will be destroyed unless the goods are found.

Sara Collins has written “The Confessions of Frannie Langton. Frannie Langton is accused of a double murder. The testimonies against her are damning. But she does have a story to tell: a story that may seal her conviction but it will also unmask perpetrators of crimes that may indict the whole of English society itself.

“The Eighth Sister” is by Robert Dugoni. In a deadly game of cat and mouse former CIA officer Charles Jenkins comes out of retirement on an undercover assignment to Moscow. There he is to locate a Russian agent who is killing members of U.S. spy cell known as the seven sisters.
