June 24, 2019- Sentencing Hearing

Tara Marie Syverson, Havre, MT

DC-2018-08

The Defendant entered a plea of Guilty to Theft, as Part of a Common Scheme, a felony. The Court sentenced the Defendant to the Department of Corrections for a period of ten (10) years, all suspended. Syverson was ordered to pay $8,065.51 in restitution to New Horizons Unlimited, Inc., in increments of no less than $70 per month. The Court required Syverson to comply with probationary conditions during the suspended sentence.

June 24, 2019 Sentencing Hearing

James Murel Goldsmith, Harlem, MT

DC-2019-04

The Defendant entered a plea of Guilty to Count 1, Strangulation of a Partner or Family Member, a felony and Count 5, Assault, a misdemeanor. As to Count 1, the Court sentenced Goldsmith to the Department of Corrections for a period of five (5) years, with three (3) years suspended. As to Count 2, the Court sentenced Goldsmith to the County Jail for a period of six (6) months, with 32 days suspended, to run concurrent to the sentence imposed in Count 1. Goldsmith was given credit for 148 days served in jail pending sentencing.

Igantius George Stiffarm III, Harlem, MT

The Defendant entered a plea of Guilty to Court 1: Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a felony, and Count 2: Criminal Possession of Dangerous Drugs, a misdemeanor. As to Count 1, the Court deferred imposition of sentence for a period of three (3) years and imposed a $1,000 fine. As to Count 2, the Court deferred imposition of sentence for a period of six (6) months. Stiffarm received monetary credit in the amount of 64 days for jail time served prior to sentencing at the rate of $70.00. The Court required Stiffarm to comply with probationary conditions during the period of deferred imposition of sentence.

Austin Jess Cochran, Harlem, MT

DC-2016-26

The Defendant entered a plea of Guilty to Court 1: Criminal Endangerment, a felony, and Count 2: Fleeing from or Eluding a Peace Officer, a misdemeanor. As to Count 1, the Court deferred imposition of sentence for a period of three (3) years and imposed a $1,000 fine. As to Count 2, the Court sentenced Cochran to the county jail for a period of six (6) months, all suspended, to run concurrent to the sentence imposed in Count 1. Stiffarm received monetary credit in the amount of 75 days for jail time served prior to sentencing at the rate of $70.00. The Court required Cochran to comply with probationary conditions during the period of deferred imposition of sentence.

July 9, 2019- Sentencing Hearing

Ezra Jireh Edward Holliday, Billings, MT

DC-2018-20

The Defendant entered a plea of guilty to Count 1, Strangulation of Partner or Family Member, a felony. The Court sentenced Holliday to the Department of Corrections for a period of four (4) years, all suspended but 105 days and imposed a $1,000.00 fine.

The Defendant received credit toward his sentence for 105 days served in jail prior to sentencing. The Defendant received monetary credit at the rate of $70.00 per day toward his fine. The Court required Holliday to comply with probationary conditions during the suspended sentence.
