September is Library Card Sign Up Month! To obtain your own library card please bring in a current photo ID to register. After you receive your card in the mail you may check out one item the first time you use it. When you return the item on time you may then have regular privileges. Parents with a current photo ID may register grade school children. Students age 14 and older may sign up for card using a student ID or driver’s license.

Having a library card number allows you to check out free ebooks or audio books from MontanaLibrary2Go on your device. Contact the library for more information.

The Book Challenge for September is to read a book written by two authors.

The library board of trustees will meet September 25, 4:15 in the library meeting room.

The Book Club will meet to discuss “Me for You” by Lolly Winston September 23, 4 P.M.

The last week of September is Banner Book Week which celebrates our freedom to read. Check out the library’s Facebook page each day to learn a new statistic concerning banned or challenged books.


Involve your children in the programs available at the library. Storytime for ages 0-5 is held each Tuesday at 10 A.M. The little ones must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Grade school students are invited to join the After School Squad each Wednesday at 3:30. Lego Club for all ages meets on Thursdays at 4:30. Preschool children must be accompanied by an adult.

“Saving Meghan” is by D.J. Palmer. Becky Gerald walks a fine line between being a devoted mother and being obsessed with finding a cure for the girl’s mysterious health issues. “The Time Is Now: A Call to Uncommon Courage” is by Joan Chittister. Chittister, beloved nun and social activist, offers a compelling vision to combat complacency to create a world of justice, freedom, peace, and empowerment.

“The Girl He Used to Know” is a novel by Tracey Garvis Graves. Annika, an English major at the University of Illinois, finds herself more comfortable surrounded by books and playing chess than social situations. Jonathan Huffman joins chess club and soon Annika and Jonathan are planning a future together. When a tragedy forces them apart they must navigate their lives alone. Ten years later fate reunites them. Can they overcome the fears and anxieties that separated them in order to have a second chance at love?

Linda Castillo is the author of “Shamed.” A devastating murder exposes an Amish family’s tortured past in this gripping thriller. “The Orphan’s Song” is written by Lauren Kate. Set in Venice in 1836 two orphans come together through music; but a secret tears them apart. “The Unquiet Heart” is by Kaite Welsh. In this sequel to “The Wages of Sin” Sarah Gilchrist is drawn into the murder trial of her dull fiancé, Miles. She returns to the slums of Edinburgh where she discovers a dark past about a family and Miles himself.
