Northern Star Chapter #23 OES in Chinook welcomes State Members

Worthy Grand Matron, Elaine Robinson and Worth Grand Patron Earl Bricker were in Chinook on Friday, September 13 making their official visit to North Star Chapter No. 23 of the Order of the Eastern Star in Montana.

Elaine Robinson of Superior, Montana, Worthy Grand Matron of the Grand Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in Montana made her official visitation to Northern Star Chapter #23 in Chinook on Friday, September 13, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. Worthy Grand Patron Earl Bricker, of Moore, Montana accompanied her.

Dinner at the Chinook Motor Inn at 5:00 p.m. preceded the meeting. All members of the Eastern Star were invited to attend.

The Order of Eastern Star was developed in the 1860's by Rob Morris, who was honored as the Master Builder of the Order of the Eastern Star. Eastern Star is the largest organization in the world to which both men and women may belong. The Order has over two million members with projects involving millions of dollars that benefit many people: Cancer Research, Heart Fund, Knights Templar Eye Foundation, Shriners' Hospitals, Masonic Home in Helena and many local charities including the local food pantry, local fire department and ambulance service to name a few. The Order also sponsors the ESTARAL (Eastern Star Training Awards for Religious Leadership) Fund to assist students seeking careers in the ministry. The Chapel at the International Peace Garden on the border between North Dakota and Manitoba, Canada was donated by and is maintained by the Order of the Eastern Star.


Pamela Wadish is the Worthy Matron and Jack Mattingly serves as Worthy Patron of Northern Star Chapter #23. Dignitaries present for the evening included: General Grand Chapter Committee member Margo Hellickson, Worthy Grand Chaplain of Miles City; Past Grand Matrons: Margo Hellickson of Miles City and Dorothy Brooks of Lewistown; Past Grand Patron Rob Robinson of Superior. Other Grand Officers included: JoAnne Kibbee, Grand Treasurer Emeriti of Big Sandy; Pamela Wadish, Grand Associate Conductress of Chinook; Mary Waters, Grand Ruth of Malta; Dawn Stanley, Grand Electa of Missoula. Grand Representatives of other Grand Jurisdiction in Montana included: Pegi Wenger of Havre, Debbie Bricker of Moore and Sandra McIntosh of Billings. Grand Committee members present were: Amy Belle Smith of Chinook, Kathleen McGuire of Harlem and Pegi Wenger of Havre. Other Worthy Matrons in attendance were Margo Hellickson of Miles City and Pegi Wenger of Havre. Sam Clawson, Worthy Patron of Havre Chapter also was present.

WGM Elaine Robinson and WGP Earl Bricker will preside at their "Perfect Vision for O.E.S." session in Missoula, June 18 –20, 2020, to celebrate the 131st Anniversary of Montana Grand Chapter.
