Chinook Blood Drive collects 38 Pints

January 22, 2020

Raynee Hassler - 1st Time Donor

The Chinook community hosted the American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday January 7, 2020. There were 43 individuals that showed up to donate with 5 deferrals making our total number of pints donated 38 on a goal of 39. We appreciate all who braved the weather to come out and donate. Our next blood drive will be on Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 12:30-6:00 at Wallner Hall. You can go online at http://www.redcrossblood.org to schedule your appointment early.

We had two first time donors, Raynee Hasler and Natalie Pomeroy. We appreciate you and hope your experience was a good one and that we will be seeing you back again in March.

The canteen was hosted by the Chinook High School Honor Society: Natalia Pomeroy, Raynee Hasler, Damon Hannum, Lily Surber, Crystal Hofer, Delaney Kellam, Abigale Hamilton and Garret Pruittis. As always, the goodies were enjoyed by all of our donors, volunteers and guests. We are all so happy to have had you participate in this very important aspect of the blood drive.

Pastor Jack Mattingly and the United Methodist Church once again provided the site for the drive at Wallner Hall. Set up for the drive was accomplished by Carla Jenewein and Linda Thompson. Clean up for this drive was made possible by Chrissy Downs and the Jump Youth Group.

Door Prizes were provided by North Central Montana Cattle Women and the Honor Society. Taking home door prizes were Cameron Huestis, Ben Hall, Jana Hauer and Raynee Hasler.

Others to be recognized for their willingness to contribute to the smooth running of the drive each time are the ladies at the welcome table: Linda Thompson, Donna Murdy and Patti Treftz. Paulette Keller delivered those beef gift certificates to me promptly before the drive once again.

To each and every one of you, my gratitude for your willingness to donate and to participate in one way or another is unending. I apologize in advance if I have forgotten anybody.

Sincerely Carla Jenewein, Red Cross Blood Drive Coordinator for Chinook.
