Blaine County Library

January 29, 2020

Wednesday February 5th from 12:00 to 4:00 Kirk Mills will be at the library to do Census training. In Blaine County the Census jobs will pay $17.00 per hour and 58 cents per mile. If you are looking for a part-time job, plan to attend!

You will be seeing a new face at the library. We welcome Charley Anderson to our team as our Library Clerk. Stop in and say hello.

Maleficent Mistress of Evil and The Addams Family are new movies available this week.

This week we have a number of historical fiction novels ready for checkout. “Light Changes Everything” by Nancy Turner is the story of a resilient young feminist a century ahead of her time. Full of gumption and spirit, Mary Pearl’s evocative coming of age tale is destined to be the next American classic. “Mambo in Chinatown” by Jean Kwok is a novel about a young woman torn between her family duties in Chinatown and her escape into the world of ballroom dancing. “A Long Petal of the Sea” by Isabel Allende is an epic novel spanning decades and crossing continents following two young people as they flee the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War in search of a place to call home.

The Free People Reading Freely book club will meet Monday February 24, 2020 at 6:30 p.m. The group decided to meet half an hour earlier than we have been. The February book will be “Looking for Alaska” by John Green. We have copies of the book and the audio book available. New members are welcome to join us.

There is always something going on at the library. Check us out on Facebook or look us up on our website at http: http://www.blainecountylibrary.org for up to date information about what’s going on!
