American Red Cross Blood Drive Exceeds Goal Set for May

June 3, 2020

The Chinook community hosted the American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday May 12, 2020. There were 45 presenters with 4 deferrals making our total number of pints donated 41 on a goal of 38. We appreciate all who stopped by to donate.

Mariah Kellam joined us for the first time to give blood. Don Ranstrom reached 16 gallons and Rita Surber reached 6 gallons

The canteen was hosted by the United Methodist Church Women: Rita Surber, Linda Sharples and Monica Swank. As always, the goodies were enjoyed by all of our donors, volunteers and guests. We are all so happy you were still allowed to participate in this very important aspect of the blood drive.

Pastor Jack Mattingly and the United Methodist Church once again provided the site for the drive at Wallner Hall. Set up for the drive was accomplished by Carla Jenewein and Judy Johnson. Clean up for this drive was made possible by Chrissy Downs and the Jump Youth Group. Cloth masks were made and donated by Barb Sather. Everyone’s time and efforts are greatly appreciated.

Door Prizes were provided by North Central Montana Cattle Women and the United Methodist Church ladies. Taking home door prizes were Elmer Zarn, Ben Hall, Evelyn Schubert, Tandie Molyneaux, Stacey Hasler Elliot, Mariah Kellam and Amanda Strobe.

Others to be recognized for their willingness to contribute to the smooth running of the drive each time are the ladies at the welcome table: Linda Thompson and Judy Johnson. Paulette Keller delivered those beef gift certificates to me promptly before the drive once again.

To each and every one of you, my gratitude for your willingness to donate and to participate in one way or another is unending. I apologize in advance if I have forgotten anybody.

Sincerely Carla Jenewein, Red Cross Blood Drive Coordinator for Chinook.
